We Are Counter Culture

Counter Culture is a service based, 501c3 organization designed to meet the needs of the homeless, the incarcerated, the elderly, and victims of domestic violence. Our primary goal is to provide resources for those that are in need, while training youth and young adults to be servant leaders.

Here’s where the inspiration comes from

CounterCulture is a community service, non-profit charity in Dallas, TX. Founded by Nate Cottman, it began with a few close friends who shared a passion to reach the forgotten. We are now a fast growing organization of youth and young adults revolutionizing the DFW area through service. There are four major areas that we target to impact while serving in the community: the homeless, the incarcerated, the elderly, and victims of domestic violence.

We are intentional about transforming minds and communities, while exposing this generation to ideas that combat many of the unhealthy norms of society (such as selfishness and self-centeredness), using our lives as examples of our passion to provoke change. We promote our message through various acts of service within our community, a wide array of unique presentations, and clothing bearing our ideas.

Using faith as our foundation, we are inspired by:

Romans 12:2(a) (NLT) –

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by CHANGING THE WAY YOU THINK.

Matthew 25:34-35 (NLT)

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.

CounterCulture is more than a movement. We are a MISSION to reach the forgotten, and to influence this
generation to “Live Backwards” – to live in opposition to many of the negative norms of society, to love others selflessly, and to give freely.
